The data reported here are from the Fauna and Flora Baseline Study being conducted at Mitchell Lake by the Mitchell Lake Wetlands Society Science Committee, reports from birders on other sightings during the baseline study, and historical data.

The Mammalian Species List was assembled from Davis & Schmidly (1994). Any of the
listed species that were live-trapped or observed during this study are indicated with YES under trapped or Observed.

The Herpetofaunal Species List generally includes species occurring in southern Bexar and adjacent counties (Atascosa, Medina, Wilson). The list was assembled from Brown (1950), Conant and Collins (1991), Dixon (1987), Menger (1913), Vermersch (1992), and Vermersch and Kuntz (1986).
