The Mitchell Lake Audubon Center (MLAC) provides access to the public through guided field trips. Information about visits is available on the MLAC website: http://www.tx.audubon.org/mitchell.htm.

The entrance gate to Mitchell Lake Wetlands is located in south San Antonio, on Moursund Blvd. Take loop 410, exit 46, Moursund Blvd and go south 0.7 mile. The gate is on the left.

Here is a map, called the "locator map", showing the area around Mitchell Lake with letters and numbers around the side to use to specify a map location. For example there is an entrance gate located at B5 on the grid. These grid locations are used to specify locations of events such as wildlife sightings.

Here is a recent aerial photo in color. The Union Pacific Railroad Tracks and Pleasanton Road are the two north-south arteries to the left of the lake.
