Introduction

The Leeper House has become the headquarters for the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center in San Antonio, Texas. It was. moved from the site of the McNay Museum to Mitchell Lake and refurbished. The home is an example of Colonial Revival Style design and was built in about 1910. The site of the house at Mitchell Lake has been extensively improved including driveways, parking, lighting, and landscaping.

The historic Leeper House heads to the South Side

On May 1, 2003 the San Antonio Express-News published a story, "Road to Conservation", with photos covering the Leeper House move from the McNay Art Museum to the Mitchell Lake Wildlife Refuge.
