IntroductionThe Leeper House has become the headquarters for the Mitchell Lake Audubon Center in San Antonio, Texas. It was. moved from the site of the McNay Museum to Mitchell Lake and refurbished. The home is an example of Colonial Revival Style design and was built in about 1910. The site of the house at Mitchell Lake has been extensively improved including driveways, parking, lighting, and landscaping.
The links below include an extensive collection of photos of the house as it sat on skids prior to being moved. Many of these photos focus on the features of the original architecture. There is also a short history of the house. Finally there is a on-line version of a Powerpoint presentation that has been used to present information on the plans of the Mitchell Lake Wetlands Society for the Leeper House.
